31 Weeks

Today I am 31 weeks and I had an ultrasound done. My doctor wanted to measure the baby and make sure he's growing where he should be. I'm happy to say he is and everything is going well. I go back next week for my regular checkup. My due date is still Aug. 3, but hoping he comes sooner!!

Jack's surgery IS on for Monday. I'm very nervous about it but glad to have it over with. I will update everyone next week on how that goes.

Busy Memorial Day Weekend

It was a nice 3 day weekend for us. The weather was perfect and we kept ourselves busy without traveling too far.
Saturday we took Jack to get his 2nd haircut, he didn't do as well as we thought he would, but he looks so darn cute!

After his haircut we bought Jack a little pool and just hung out at home. Here's some pictures:

Sunday we went strawberry picking. The farm we went to has a small petting farm area, and they had pig races, we witnessed our first pig race! We took a hayride out to pick berries which Jack seemed to like.

Family Vacation

This past week was our little family vacation and what a week it was! It started off good.... we drove to Long Island Friday night and got to our friends' house about 1am. Jack did pretty well but didn't sleep too much. We all were lacking in sleep from this trip. We had a great time though visiting with friends. Mike got to play golf while the moms and kids went to the park and played. On Mother's Day we had a nice breakfast that our friend Chris got from a really good bakery. We went to a park later in the afternoon and had a little picnic. It was a little chilly but it was still fun and nice to be outside. Jack and Oscar seemed to get a long well. Although Oscar was a little brute! :) Every time Jack got a toy to play with Oscar would come over and take it! It was a good trip and glad we were finally able to make it up there and meet Oscar.

We left Long Island Tuesday afternoon and headed back to Richmond for the night. We then left for Charlotte on Wednesday. I didn't really want to go because Jack seemed to be getting sick but we decided to go. Unfortunately Jack got worse and about 8pm that night we took him to the ER in Charlotte. He had an ear infection, fever and an upper resperatory infection. He is feeling better now but still stuffy and coughing some. I have a feeling we will have to cancel his surgery, AGAIN. It's in 2 weeks and he would have to be all healthy by tomorrow which it doesn't look like that will be the case. He has a checkup this Thursday to check his weight, which I'm sure will have dropped since he hasn't been eating much at all from being sick. Hopefully being home this week and getting back to a regular routine will help.

Jack in the ER

We didn't get to do too much while in Charlotte with Jack being sick and Mike got sick also. Mike did go into his Uncle Pat's office (his future office) for a morning and then we drove around looking at houses and neighborhoods. It's still early but we just want to try to narrow down the area we want to live in. Later this year we'll probably start seriously looking. I'm VERY excited about that!

28 Week

I had my 28 week checkup today and everything is going well. I start going every 2 weeks now! I can't believe I'm at the point already. I havn't gained TOO much weight but I feel and look huge as you can tell from the picture!

I took Jack to one of the outdoor malls the other day. They have this water fountain area where kids play in and he liked it but didn't actually go in and get wet, maybe next time.










Today we are leaving for a long drive to Long Island to visit some friends. It is a much needed and deserved vacation for Mike (and for me!). We'll then head to Charlotte for a few days next week too. Should be a fun week!

Beach Bum

Jack and I went to the Outer Banks this week for a couple days. A friend of mines husband's work rented a house in Corolla Beach, near Kitty Hawk, and my friend was there all week by herself so she invited us up. The weather wasn't too warm but it was nice to get away and have a change of scenery. Plus it was fun to see Jack on the beach and see the ocean. I took a bunch of cute photos and some are posted below. It was only about 3 1/2 hour drive, but that was long enough for Jack. After that trip I really couldn't imagine driving up to NY with him by myself!

Yesterday was Mike's birthday - 33 years old! Of course he was home late but I cooked dinner and we had ice cream cake for dessert.

Our next big trip will be to Long Island in another week to visit friends. Looking forward to that!
