2 year and 6 month checkups

Today was Jack and Patrick's checkups.
Jack is a whopping 23 lbs. He's still in the 5th % for weight and 25th for height. Patrick on the other hand is in the 25-50th% for weight and 50th for height. Both have big heads! I guess that just means they'll be really smart! :) Seriously though, everything is proportional so that's all that matters. Both had to get shots which they of course cried but were fine once it was done.

What else has been going on... not much really. Both boys have had a cold for almost a week now. Jack actually has an ear infection so is on antibiotics for that. We've been inside for the past 4 days and am ready to get out! It's been cold though so don't mind it too much. This weekend we're having a Super Bowl party so that will be fun.

Oh, Patrick isn't crawling, YET, but he's rolling and moving all over the place. Jack is talking more and more. I am trying to upload some video of the boys but the files are big and taking forever, so I'll keep working on it so check back soon!

Here's a couple pictures:

Look who turned 2!

Hard to believe that little Jack is 2! What's even harder to believe is that Patrick is almost 6 months! Time really does go fast.
For Jack's birthday we had a small party last weekend with Grandma and Papa and my friend and her son came over for pizza and cake. Jack likes Curious George these days so the theme was Curious George and I made a cake with the monkey face on it. I drew it freehand and thought it came out pretty good! :) Jack actually didn't cry when we sang Happy Birthday to him! He got lots of nice gifts, cards, money from everyone - so thank you all! For his birthday on Tuesday I took him to Chick-fil-A for lunch where he only wanted to eat french fries. Then we went out to dinner and he only ate bread and green beans! Crazy appetite these toddlers have. For his birthday "cake" I made him a big pumpkin muffin. He LOVES pumpkin. I have more pictures from his birthday and just from the past month that I will be sending out.

Another milestone is Patrick starting cereal! Cute picture below of his first taste. He still doesn't quite get the whole eating from a spoon but he'll get there. He's definitely a bigger eater than Jack ever was. Patrick also has his 2 bottom teeth poking up! AND it won't be long before he's crawling. He rolls all over the place and pushes way up on his knees, so crawling is just around the corner. He really loves his big brother too. He loves to watch him play and dance and just laughs and laughs, it's the best thing to see :)

They both have their next check-ups in a couple weeks. I'm curious to see how much they've grown.

New handmade items

I have recently started making pendants that can be worn as necklaces or used as keychains or magnets. Each one is customized to what you want - meaning I do not add the bails until you decided what you want. Here are a few samples of what I have so far. I will adding these items and more as I make them, to my website soon so check that out too! If you see something you or someone you know might like, let me know! And if there is a certain color/design you want let me know and I can see if I can accommodate you.

Prices are $8 for necklace, $6 for keychain and $4 for magnet.
The pendant sizes are 7/8" x 7/8" for the square and 1 7/8" x 7/8" for the rectangular.

Happy New Year!

It's hard to believe that it is January already. Time seems to go by so fast now. We had a quiet, relaxing Christmas at home. We went to mass Christmas Eve at 4pm, the designated "family" mass. Afterwards we came home and ate and watched movies. Santa was very good to both Jack and Patrick :) Jack got a tricycle, which he can't quit reach the petals yet! Patrick got an activity center which he seems to really enjoy. Plus lots of other toys and clothes. The weekend after Christmas we went to Mike's mom's and had Christmas there. We all got lots of nice things and had some great food!

We stayed in for New Years since Mike was on trauma call. It was a very low key night. Well, except Patrick was pretty fussy because he's cutting teeth already! His 2 bottom teeth are starting to poke through. I think that's why he has been coughing and seems to have a cold lately, which can happen when babies teeth - from what I've read. Jack never fussed or seemed bothered when he was teething - although he did drool alot, and still does!
Today we took the tree down and put all the Christmas decorations away- until next year, when we'll be in our new house! (that we still have yet to look for - this Spring!)

Next weekend is Jack's birthday party. I cannot believe he'll be 2! I'll be sure to post pictures from that.

Lots of cookies and lots of running

This past week I've been baking lots of cookies. I had the cookie exchange party and then made a bunch of christmas cookies. I can't help but eat some every day! :) LOVE LOVE LOVE cookies :) Here's a couple pictures of Jack helping with the standard cut outs I do every year.

This past Sunday I ran in the Toys for Tots 5K race. My friend and I ran together and we really pushed each other along. I ran the 2nd best time I've ever had for 3 miles. The first time was probably a good 8 years ago! My official time was 26:26. My friend was only 30 seconds behind and we finished 5th and 6th for our age group! (out of 25). I'm pretty happy with myself considering I only run 2-3 times a week. We're planning on running in some upcoming races. Here's a picture of us running. Someone was taking pictures of every runner which was pretty cool.

This week I'm trying to stay busy since Mike won't be home much at all, a busy week at work for him. Can't believe next week is Christmas! I have my christmas cards almost done and all my packages mailed. Just have to wrap the boys presents, which we'll do next week.

4 month checkup, Christmas tree and more...

Lots has been going on, I can't keep up with this blog!

Patrick had his 4 month checkup and is in the 50th percentile! He is the same length at 4 months that Jack was at 6 months and he's already out growing his 3-6 month clothes! He's doing really well and is so happy and smiley. He rolls over from his back to his stomach all the time now. He likes to watch his big brother run around and play.

Jack is doing great in his toddler bed. I can't believe how easy of a transition it was. I only wish potty training would be this easy! We tried over Thanksgiving but it didn't go too well, so we'll try again over the long Christmas weekend. Jack is talking more and more. He says LOVE YOU :)

Last weekend we got our Christmas tree and decorated. I was worried about the tree and Jack getting into it but he doesn't seem to care. He likes to point out his Thomas the Train decoration though. We are finally done with Christmas shopping for the boys. Now I can't wait to wrap everything! I've been baking lots and lots of cookies. Sometime this week, if Mike ever gets home early enough, I'm going to make the traditional cut out cookies and have Jack decorate some.

This past weekend I had a cookie exchange party here at the house. That was fun! Who doesn't love eating all different kinds of cookies :) Mike took the boys to dinner so it was a fun girls night "out".
I can't think of anything else to report right now. OH! Almost forgot, the boys got their picture taken with Santa last weekend. I don't have a digital copy to share though, but it is really cute, of course :) Jack didn't cry, he just kinda stared at Santa and his beard. Too cute.

Here's a bunch of photos:
