The search is over...

at least for the next year.

We have found a house, to rent, in Charlotte. We plan to rent for a year and save and look for a house that we really like and plan to stay in for awhile. It's a nice 3 BR, 2 story house. It's in a nice community with a pool and playground. The only thing I was disappointed in was that the yard was not fenced, but we were quite limited because a lot of places did not allow dogs. We are happy with the place though and it is finally starting to feel more "real". Just 7 1/2 weeks to go!!

The office that Mike will be working in, his uncle Pat's office, put an ad in one of the local magazines. You can check the online version here: (it takes awhile for the page to load, and then it's on page 65)

Jack and Patrick are doing well. It was a rough week in Charlotte, being in the car most of the days and not being able to play but they did well considering. Jack is a handful, and your typical 2 year old :) Patrick is "talking", saying BAH BAH BAH. I still need to download all the latest photos, so check back soon!

Today we had a very nice, relaxing Mother's Day. The boys got me breakfast, flowers, a gift certificate to a spa (can't wait to use that!), a newspaper and very nice cards, and we relaxed all morning. I took the boys for a nice long jog while Mike mowed the lawn and then we all played outside after. It was a perfect day. Although, I think Patrick got a little sunburn. BAD mommy for not putting sunblock on. I am ALWAYS so careful about doing that, except today!

Next up is Patrick's surgery, in 2 weeks, and I really should try to start packing things up!

So much to do, so little time

I am trying to remember all that has happened since the last post. The main event was going to Charlotte for a week. Mike went into his "new" office to do some more paperwork and pretty much the rest of the time we spent driving around looking at houses. We have now decided to rent and save for a down payment. I hate the idea of renting still and even more having to move AGAIN! But it makes the best sense and gives us more time to really find something we like and plan to stay in for awhile.
While we were in Charlotte we took Jack to his first NHL game! He had a blast! He LOVES hockey now! Mike has already looked into hockey programs for when we move to Charlotte.

We had a busy weekend when we returned home from Charlotte. GG and George stopped to visit. Jack was in a grouchy mood, again, but it was to be expected since we had JUST got home about an hour before they arrived. None of us got much sleep the week in Charlotte with all 4 of us sleeping in 1 room and nobody getting any naps. Well, Patrick still napped :)
Mike's mom, Frank and granparents stopped to visit the next day. It was his grandparent's first time meeting Patrick. It was a HOT day but a nice visit.

Yesterday was Mike's birthday and we just celebrated at home. Today we went to the zoo and now just relaxing and doing lots of laundry so I can pack everything up for our next trip this coming week. Monday we are going to Virginia Beach for the day/night and then head to Charlotte on Tuesday for the rest of the week. It's suppose to rain at the beach but hopefully we can get some beach time in and the hotel we're staying in has a big indoor pool with a lazy river and a waterfall, so that should be fun!

Here's a few pictures from the past week, I have downloaded everything from my camera yet so will have more next time.

Under the weather

This week didn't get off on a good start. Both boys have colds AND ear infections, Jack has a double ear infection, and are on antibiotics and hopefully by the end of the week they will be feeling better.

On top of all this my achiles is still soar. I don't think I posted this, but a couple weeks ago I ran my first 10K! I did way better than I thought I would. My time was 52:40. I felt great after and I think I would have been ok but my friend and I ended up walking almost 45 minutes back to her parents house. Her sister was suppose to be pick us up but it was cold and we were ready to go so thought we would pass her on our way back, but there was a lot of traffic and I guess we missed each other. Anyways, my heal started hurting then and still trying to recover. I'm planning on running another 10K next month so hoping to be back on track next week :)

We are in the process of looking at houses online and getting a list together for our friend so when we get to Charlotte in a couple weeks we can go check some houses out. I'm hoping we can take advantage of the housing market and find a really good deal!

Not too much else going on. Here are a few recent pictures -

Patrick update and more video

Patrick met with the urologist today and his surgery is scheduled for May 26. Let's just hope he doesn't get sick right before so we don't have to reschedule!

Enjoying the warm weather!

This past weekend was the Irish Festival in Richmond. It isn't so much an Irish fest as a Beer fest with some Irish sprinkled in. Buffalo had a REAL Irish festival! But this was fun and the weather was warm and sunny. Jack had fun dancing to the music. Sorry for the crooked video, but I can't figure out how to turn it the right way, I think Mike recorded it that way.

Sunday I took Jack to a local winery where we met up with my friend and her son, Jackson. They are good buddies and had a great time!

Jack and Jackson at Woodland Vineyards

Jack finished his last session of soccer and debating on signing him up again. We'll be gone a lot of upcoming weekends so not sure what we'll do.

This coming weekend I'm running in a 10K (6.2 miles). I've never ran 6 miles so we'll see how it goes!

An update on Patrick's appointment today... He did really well. It was much easier than Jack, mainly because Jack was older and wanted to run around. We'll get the results in a couple weeks. Next week Patrick meets with the urologist and we'll schedule his surgery. Can't wait for it to all be over!

Oh, 1 more thing! I took a picture of Patrick a few days ago when he was trying to pull himself up to stand. I have almost the same exact photo of Jack at the same age! Photos are below. Crazy how similar they are, almost twins!!
